Come learn about T-Trak module building at the Frog and Diamond on April 27
The Peg City Rail Joiners Club will be hosting Dave Pomarenski for the first in a series about N scale T-Trak modules. Part one will be the introduction, starting from the module. The meeting takes place at the Frog and Diamond Hobbyworks, 361 Bowman Avenue, on Monday April 27th, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

The Winnipeg Model Railroad Club wishes to extend a big THANK YOU to all of the happy people who attended our 2026 train show and open house this past weekend. We had great attendance and crowds right up to our 4:00 Sunday closing time. When our new spring show chair Murray Brown announced that it was closing time, we were applauded by our remaining guests. That's never happened before!

Ever year our members submit their best efforts in several categories. They are judged using rigorous NMRA standards and are given awards which are presented at the club's annual banquet and AGM.

The South family layout returns to the WMRC's 2026 train show and open house
The South family modular layout will be returning to the WMRC's 2026 open house. This is a truly unique layout as it is entirely a family affair. Former WMRC President Godfrey South created this layout and the rest of his family pitched in to help! Chief among his offsprings assisting him in its operations is Tommy South, who spent his formative years as a WMRC member and is now working as a conductor at CN.

The NMRA No.1 Northern Free-mo group returns to the WMRC 2026 train show and open house
The NMRA No.1 Northern Division Free-Mo group will be returning to the WMRC's 2026 train show and open house. The group is known for having the largest display at the Manitoba Mega Train Show (now the Manitoba Hobby Expo) and they'll have the largest layout at our show too!

The giraffe car man returns to the WMRC's 2026 train show and open house
We are pleased to announce that the giraffe car man will be returning to our annual train show and open house. The giraffe car man has entertained generations of train lovers for almost 40 years with his series of quirky layouts, all featuring his collection of giraffe cars. He started out with one, now he has eight!
His layout is also interactive! Kids of all ages can operate the dump cars, the crossing signals and blow the whistles. We have three interactive displays this year. T-Trak's Neil Berrington will make a presentation about model railroad module design at WMRC's April meeting
In a very short time Manitoba T-Trak has become one of our most popular attractions at the WMRC’s open houses, and we are pleased to announce that they will be displaying again this year at our next show on April 18 and 19 at the Charleswood Legion.
As a special preview to this event, T-Trak’s Neil Berrington will make a presentation about the principles of model railroad module design at our next meeting on April 10. Neil will discuss types of layouts such as fixed, transportable, portable, communal modular and highly portable, and types of modular layouts including Free-mo and T-Trak. He will also show how he designs and produces modules with CorelDRAW and modern technology. Neil will also display some T-Trak modules.
The fun starts at 7:30 PM on Friday, April 10 in the Tank Room at the Charleswood Legion, 6003 Roblin Boulevard. The canteen will be open and we’ll have our usual model and photo displays.
