The Assiniboine Park steam train will be celebrating its 60th anniversary on Monday, July 29 between 11:00AM and 6:00PM. Stop by and join the celebration, and have a piece of cake too! What could be better than a ride behind a live steamer and cake?

 The price for a ride is just four bucks cash per person, but if you flash owner / operator Tim Buzunis a debit card it’ll cost you a quarter extra.

When we posted the news about the AVR's first winter open house for 2018 on Facebook, we were inundated by the response! 79, 542 people saw the post, and we had 873 shares. However, we don't know if this response reflected the actual attendance at this event (but we sure hope that it did).

It's here! The Assiniboine Valley Railway is holding their first Christmas open house for 2017! The trains will run on Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM on both days.

Please note that due to the death of AVR founder Bill Taylor, there will again be no Christmas light display in the evenings.
