The friendly folks over at the Echo Valley Railroad Guild in Regina want you all to know that Regina Railfest is coming up soon! It will be held on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 at the Caledonian Curling Club, 2225 Sandra Schmirler Way (which is near the airport).
This is a big show, with over 25,000 square feet of model layouts and exhibits. There will be many model scales on display, including a Lego display. There will be lots of vendor tables offering great deals on all sorts of nifty model railroad equipment.
Hours are from nine to five on Saturday and from nine to four on Sunday. Adult admission is just ten bucks. Youths age 16 and under get in for five bucks. Kids four years old and under get in for free. Family admission (two adults and up to three children) is twenty bucks.
It’s only a six hour drive from Winnipeg. So what are you waiting for? It’s worth the trip! Nothing can be finer than to be there in Regina for the Railfest!

An inventive new "no duck-under" design for modular layouts
Unless you're really into limbo dancing, there's no need to duck under this back saving design!
Our good friend Zenon Lisakowski sent us this link to a terrific new blog titled Rupert's Insights.
It's done by Rupert James, a CPA living in Regina, Saskatchewan and an avid model railroader who is a member of the Echo Valley Railroad Guild, who displayed at last year's Manitoba Mega Train Show.
In this post, he displays his "no duck-under" drawbridge design that he created and built for his club's modular group, and he attests that it's quite the back saver! Read all about his creation by going to Rupert's Insights.
