Luca Matas to make a presentation about the Pine Falls Division

Luca Matas, one of our newest and youngest members, is a very enthusiastic and skilled model railroader. He is also a very knowledgeable railroad historian. At our February meeting, he will give a presentation on the history of the Pine Falls Subdivision, starting under Canadian Northern along with the operations of the line today.

Luca will also give a brief history of CANDO Rail and the Central Manitoba Railway. His presentation will include photos and videos he has taken of the line.

The fun starts at 7:00PM at the Charleswood legion, 6003 Roblin Boulevard, on Friday, February 10. The canteen will be open and we’ll have our usual monthly model and photo displays. If you wish to attend this meeting via zoom, please email us at wmrc.trainclub@gmail.com and we will send you a link.

Bob Harrison captures image of Herzog multipurpose unit on CN mainline

WMRC president Bob Harrison has been a regular contributor to the club's on-line photo display at our  monthly Zoom meetings. He caught this rare image of a Herzog maintenance of way multipurpose self propelled unit along the CN mainline by Wilkes avenue. He also contributed two other photos, a unique  Central Manitoba Railway triple lash-up and double stacks going over the bridge at The Forks on the CN mainline.

And to all WMRC members: Feel free to bring a modelling project to work on as a table clinic during the meeting!

The meeting starts at 7:30PM at the Charleswood Legion, 6003 Roblin Boulevard, on Friday, October 14, 2016. The canteen will be open, and we'll be holding our usual modelling display and the 50/50 draw. Hope to see you all there!
